How to Make Turmeric Latte
Turmeric is that delicious spice that has so many healing properties. Turmeric is also known as a natural anti-inflammatory compound and this property fights almost all modern diseases.
However, few have known to use turmeric as an ingredient for drinks. It has the same benefits, it’s as equally delicious as in food and it’s a new, unconventional way of making a drink.
Turmeric latte recipe
This recipe is not your usual “good morning” coffee or the regular latte you order in the coffee shops or restaurants. Apart from being extremely healthy and beneficial for you, the following turmeric latte recipe is as amazingly delicious as it is healthy. You will enjoy every sip of it and your body will benefit too. Simple to prepare, tasty to consume and something new to experience. Bottoms up!
- 1 Tbsp. fresh, grated turmeric root
- *2 tsp turmeric paste- to make the paste you mix two tsp of turmeric powder with 1 tsp of boiling water. You can store the extra in the fridge.
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
- 1 cup coconut or almond milk (unsweetened)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger root or 1 tsp ground
- Pinch of black pepper- optional
- Raw honey or sweetener- optional
Add the coconut milk or almond milk in a saucepan and warm it. It shouldn’t boil, just warm it up before you add the ginger, turmeric and cinnamon. Then, add coconut oil and heat until the mixture is melted.
You can use a wire whisk or a blender to make a foam, heat for a little while until frothy. Add the raw honey or sweetener if you want and decorate your latte withcinnamon. Enjoy your one of a kind latte recipe!
Other turmeric latte recipes
Another great way to enjoy your coffee is by adding chai and turmeric. A perfect blend to warm you up in the winter and relax you. Chai is not usually found in coffee drinks, however that doesn’t spoil the taste, but it adds up to the mixture. Enjoy cold-free, flu- free days with this turmeric chai latte.
Chai spice blend
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 ground allspice
- 3 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 fresh ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
Turmeric chai latte
- 1 cup of milk- regular, almond or coconut
- a shot of fresh, brewed espresso
- 1/4 tsp chai spice blend
Mix cloves, cardamom, ginger, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Put them aside while steaming the milk if you don’t have an espresso machine- just heat the milk.
Mix and whisk the steamed or heated milk, espresso and ¼ tsp of the chai spice mix above. Spoon of the foam on the top and add some turmeric over your latte.
The third turmeric latte recipe has few ingredients but they are enormous in value.
- 2 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 2 Tbsp. ground turmeric
- 2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon + some extra for the serving
- 200 ml coconut (some use almond) milk
- 1 tsp raw honey
Make a spice mix by adding cinnamon, turmeric and ginger in a small bowl. Take a large mug and add one teaspoon of the spice mix and pour hot water to cover. Stir to combine. Then, add raw honey and again stir to combine.
Add some coconut milk in a small saucepan and heat it over a medium heat, bring it to boil by stirring constantly. If you own a coffee machine, heat and froth the coconut milk and then pour over the spice mix. Add some cinnamon on top and enjoy your delicious turmeric latte recipes.
