When I was first told about the idea of adding oil and fat to coffee, I was certainly terrified and disgusted.

In fact, it really isn`t that common to consume a beverage that contains butter and oil! Not especially in nowadays lifestyle where we struggle to exclude all the calories and fats from our diet. I needed time to get used to this, indeed.

Until recent times, I was also one of those people.


When I was struggling to be skinny, I`d read about the calories on the label, but I wouldn’t pay attention to the ingredients. I`d purchase a low-fat French Vanilla coffee creamer, thinking that I am doing great job if I am avoiding food with high amount of fats and calories.

Nevertheless, when I realized that being healthy is much more important than being skinny, I concluded that fat will not make you fatter. On the contrary, fat, especially the coconut oil, can be highly beneficial in the process of burning calories and boosting the metabolism!

In contrast to most of the oils, coconut oil has medium- chain fatty acids, instead of long-chain fatty acids (2). The way medium-chain fatty acids are metabolized enables boosted metabolism (3). If you consume 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil or any other medium chain fat a day, you will increase your energy by 5%.

I`ve been consuming coconut oil with my coffee for several years not only because of the positive effects it has for my health, but because of its great taste as well!

This coconut oil will give your coffee a delicious taste of cinnamon and vanilla and the proper sweetness with honey flavor. It will not change its taste nor make the coffee oily. And what is more important, it doesn’t contain any preservatives or artificial sweeteners!

More Reasons Why I LOVE My Coconut Oil Coffee Creamer:

  • Coconut oil doesn’t make my coffee cool quickly, in contrast to some cold cream or milk.
  • It doesn’t dilute the flavor, while cream and milk, especially the non-diary one, always dilute my strong coffee.

You may have read about the Bulletproof® coffee but this is not it. Bulletproof coffee contains 1-2 tablespoons of Brain Octane or XCT oil (which are 18 times and 6 times stronger than the coconut oil), 1-2 tablespoons of grass fed butter, and 1-2 cups of coffee, all mixed together in a blender. How to Make Coconut Oil Coffee Creamer

If you prefer unsweetened coffee, you can exclude the honey.


  • 3/4 cup of organic coconut oil (soft, but not melted)
  • 1/2 cup of raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon of organic cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of organic cacao powder (optionally)

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until they combine properly.

Put the mixture in a glass jar and close with a lid.

How to Use Coconut Oil Coffee Creamer

Get 2 cups of your favorite cup of coffee.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of the prepared coffee creamer to it.

You can also add one teaspoon of glass-fed butter if you like. It is not obligatory in this recipe and is optional, but will certainly make your coffee much creamier and tastier!

Blend the coffee and the creamer on high for about 5 seconds.

Pour in a nice cup and enjoy your special coffee!
